You’ll be just a mile and a half away from the city’s art scene and lots of restaurants, as well as just minutes away from Amish Country. All of the rooms come with TVs, DVD players, ironing boards, hairdryers, and luxury bathrobes. If you’re celebrating something special look into romantic packages like the rose petal bath, chocolate, and roses, or a wine/champagne set-up for two.
Cameron Estate Inn and Restaurant, Mount Joy
This inn is a popular destination for weddings but a romantic place to visit for any occasion. The Cameron Estate Inn is a mansion that dates back to 1805 and was built by President McKinley’s great-great-grandfather. Lavish parties were held here with politicians and dignitaries before it opened its doors to traveling guests. There is also a fine dining restaurant and reservations are highly recommended, even if you are staying at the inn. The dining room here peacefully overlooks 15 acres of streams and woodlands. Some rooms here have Jacuzzi tubs and fireplaces. Hot-served breakfast, free Wi-Fi, and king-size beds are also provided.
Greystone Manor Bed and Breakfast, Bird-In-Hand
Located in a town with a peculiar name, the Greystone Manor Bed and Breakfast was developed from a Victorian mansion constructed in 1883. It has been a B&B for over 50 years and has historic room furnishings like cut crystal doors, stained glass windows, and original woodwork. You can stay in the mansion house or the carriage house, and all the rooms have private bathrooms, TVs, and central air conditioning. There are charming rooms and suites at this non-smoking inn. Some package deals here include dinner certificates to local restaurants and gift baskets. The hot breakfast each morning features favorites like Belgian waffles, French toast, omelets, and homemade biscuits.
Silverstone Inn & Suites, Lancaster
Silverstone Inn & Suites is another romantic B&B that dates back to 1750. It’s on a 15-acre farm that raises sheep and grows corn. The common areas are large and relaxing, the bar is intimate, the gardens are beautiful, and the owners live on site. Inside you’ll find eight rooms and suites that have Jacuzzis, fireplaces, and other amenities. At breakfast, you’ll get to enjoy a chef’s choice entrée that varies daily, and the chef’s specialty is a type of Dutch-style pancakes called “pannekoeken.” The inn is about four miles east of downtown Lancaster and about two miles north of Strasburg, Pennsylvania.
Speedwell Forge B&B, Lititz
The Speedwell Forge B&B also offers a relaxing getaway destination in Pennsylvania, located on 120 acres of land. This is a clean, comfortable, and romantic place to stay, whether you choose to sleep in the Colonial Ironmaster’s Mansion or one of the private cottages. This is a great B&B to stay at if you have dietary restrictions because the innkeeper will gladly accommodate special requests when you make your reservation. This inn was originally built in 1760 and fully restored in 2006 and 2011. There are mansion rooms and private cottages here, all of which have free Wi-Fi, private bathrooms, and TVs with DVD players. The property is shared with a wolf sanctuary that guests are welcome to visit. You can make your stay extra special here with chocolate, flowers, or a couples’ massage package.
After Eight Bed & Breakfast, Gordonville
The After Eight B&B is located in an 1809 colonial home east of downtown Lancaster. You can view an Amish farm from the B&B’s backyard and be in close distance to the outlet shopping and farmers’ markets of Lancaster when you stay here. The towns of Bird-In-Hand, Intercourse, and Strasburg are close by too. There are some nice gardens here with a gazebo to relax, and complimentary homemade goodies and beverages are provided. In total, there are eight guest rooms and two two-bedroom garden-level cottages at After Eight. Breakfast is generally served in the Garden Room dining area, the dishes served often reflect the Pennsylvania Dutch Country heritage.
Historic Smithton Inn, Ephrata
Something unique about the Historic Smithton Inn is that there is a wine tasting room onsite at this boutique hotel. The 18th century colonial stone inn offers working fireplaces, mini-fridges, hand-sewn quilts, and modern amenities. It’s quite lovely to sit on the front porch rocking chairs and watch the Amish buggies pass by. Breakfasts include muffins, fresh fruit, homemade bread, and eggs made to order.
Annville Inn Bed and Breakfast, Annville
Perfect for couples, Annville Inn Bed and Breakfast is a romantic B&B in Lancaster County. Many rooms have fireplaces and Jacuzzis for two, and a gourmet candlelit breakfast is offered to guests.
