Georgia’s southern style has been ever-present for decades, and you can find pieces of your favorite era in one of the many antique stores sprinkled throughout the state. The best stores seem to concentrate into clusters, so entire areas have become prime shopping grounds.
Griffin
Griffin’s Downtown area is known for its obscure murals of fox headed horsemen and great antiques. Antique Griffin is one of the most solid places to shop, with a great assortment of furniture, and sometimes even complete matching sets. Treasure Seeker’s items may not have as much age on them, but the store, as a whole, has some awesome vintage finds. The Auction Block and Antique Mall has a great turn around, with each month bringing new inventory.
Dillard
Yesterday’s Treasures is full of trinkets and memorable items from back in the day. Butter churners, era specific furniture and dishes will take you back in time to grandmas, great grandmas, or even your own childhood. Pa’s Front Porch sells super authentic items from old buggies to automotive memorabilia.
Dahlonega
Old School House Antiques has some cute curb appeal, with plenty of rustic finds and locally made signs within its doors. Gateway Antique Mall is right in the bustle of downtown, as is the quaint Cranberry Corners, which features fantastic handmade clothing! If you have time, drop in Bessie Mae’s and Dipsey Doodle’s.
Athens
Working your way through Lexington Vintage is genuinely enjoyable—everything is displayed beautifully which makes the environment so welcoming. Hip Vintage & Handmade is in an old factory, which adds to its awesome factor—a perfect setting for a place selling local art, handmade items and old goodies.
Ellijay
You know there will be great antique hunting opportunities the moment you drive into this mountain town. Main Street Antiques has bigger items, as well as fun knick knacks that make great souvenirs. You’ll completely fall in love with Yesterday’s Decor, which also has plenty of local, handcrafted items. There’s so much charm here. Southern Flare Antiques and Interiors and Black Bear Antiques are loaded with priceless items, too!
Thomasville
Relics in Thomasville is amazing, and is slightly more refined than your typical southern antique joint. Salvaged fixtures from historic homes and other gorgeous finds are packed into the shop. It’s also worth is to stop by Toscoga Market Place, which is bursting at the seams with southern flare. Livi & Co, along with Town & Country Antiques are “musts” as well!
Madison
An extensive 20,000 square foot antique shopping haven known as Madison Markets houses a list of unique vendors with unusual items and age old treasures. Unique Treasures of Madison come in at second place, with a load of adorable house accents and furniture. Madison’s antebellum style and historic structures give it an all around great feel when shopping for antiques.
Blue Ridge
High Country Art and Antiques sells breathtaking creations from local artists, while also having much older inventory. Blue Ridge Mountain Mall holds rustic treasures in its log cabin setting. Mitzi’s on Main’s hand painted furniture and whimsical antiques scream north Georgia, and pristinely restored pieces from the past like Juke boxes, barber chairs , automobile accessories and some stinking cool old wooden cash registers can be discovered at Jeff’s Antiques.
