Lake Arrowhead is located within the “Alps” of Southern California. An all-season paradise, guests come to water ski, fish and hike during the summer. In winter, things transform into a winter wonderland of lights and snow. Autumn should not be overlooked either, as the changing leaves contrast beautifully against the blue pristine waters. A variety of cabins are available to rent in the area, and we’ve found the ones that we think are the coolest.
The Dogwood Cottage
Shingle siding gives a “one with nature” appeal on the exterior, but plenty of color, like an ultra bright red tile countertop in the kitchen keeps things interesting. Walk down the stairs outside, to a lovely recreation area where the family can play corn hole and enjoy the lake weather.
Burnt Mill Canyon Cottage
You won’t find Snow White, Sleeping Beauty or any other storybook characters dwelling here, although it might feel like that would be possible when walking toward this breathtaking cottage. Lanterns hang to light the walkway and become particularly ambient when dusted with snow. Inside is ultra-cozy, with nods to nature here and there.
Industrial Revolution
Striking materials have been used to create an industrial theme. From the fireplace to the overall appearance, it’s got an extremely cool thing going on. However, it’s quite easy to feel at home. Out on the deck, the views of the lake are stunning, and there is plenty of room to play games or cookout.
Oak Tree A-Frame
These updated A-frames really reminds us how incredibly well chic meshes with nature. The design of this dwelling is nothing short of awe-inspiring, as the wood ceiling, and other cabin attributes add that sense of warmth, while contemporary light fixtures, fun wallpaper, and subtle elegance tie it all together in the most mesmerizing way.
3-Bedroom Next to Village
Enchanting views of the lake can be seen from this refined and highly elegant home. Inside is ornate, yet still traditional and homey. In the garage, guests will find games like ping-pong, which gives something to do on days when the weather isn’t so favorable.
Luxurious Mountain Cabin with Jacuzzi
With four spacious bedrooms and three bathrooms, this cabin can comfortably sleep up to 10 people. So maybe this is the perfect place to get together with extended family. An additional half bath adds one more dash of convenience. Everything is polished and totally beautiful.
A-Frame Cabin with Forest Views & Deck
Planked ceilings and walls create a rustic atmosphere, but might be just what you were craving. Despite the rugged surface, various furniture pieces, and contemporary light fixtures dust the cabin with a little bit more modernity. When snow is falling outside, the surrounding trees become covered in white powder, and it is quite a magical scene.
The Ranger Station – Charming Log Cabin in the Trees
An authentic log cabin with a warm fireplace, skylights framing the stars, and an open concept feel throughout – sounds pretty much like perfection, right? It is. And there are multiple places on the porch to relax, with a hot cup of coffee while the sun rises. Retreat from the hustle and bustle, to a real cabin experience in nature.
Old Creek Cabin
A-frame cabins have a magical essence about them. Since this one has been remodeled, not only does it have all the beauty the structure originally had, there is somewhat of a coffee café vibe going on here. Southwestern furniture and dusty blue colors add “eclectic-ness”.
The Hideout
Simplistic is often all we want when on vacation. This little white abode sits in an area with incredible views, that is just two miles from the lake. While small, it is well equipped and has been updated since the 1960s construction.
