The lovely Georgia Queen holds up to 1,000 passengers, is 230 feet long, and is 64 feet wide. Onboard, you’ll find three ballrooms with lots of dining and dancing space, as well as a 5,000-square-foot open-air top deck with patio seating.

There are bars on each floor and even an elevator at the ship’s bow for guests with mobility challenges. This is an ideal boat to enjoy sightseeing around the city and the fresh breezes from the water. Alternatively, you can ride on the 600-passenger Savannah River Queen, which the same company also operates.

The cruises offered by Savannah Riverboat Cruises allow you to taste delicious southern cuisine, watch live entertainment shows, and take in the breeze around the harbor. Two-hour dinner cruises sail year-round, while Saturday cruises feature a vast buffet, and Monday evenings have cruises with uplifting gospel music.

You can also take a narrated harbor luncheon cruise or join the crew for Sunday brunch. Saturday moonlight and sunset cruises have a cash bar for guests to kick back with cocktails, and narrated harbor cruises are a great way to learn about the city’s history. Seasonally themed cruises are also available for the 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, and Father’s Day.

What to Know Before Your Ride

There is no dress code to board the Georgia Queen, so come as you are and wear what you wish. The boat sails rain or shine and as long as the weather conditions aren’t dangerous. Most cruises go up the river, past the Talmadge Bridge, and back to Fort Jackson.

When you arrive at the launch facility on River Street, you can park in the public lots here or at the meters, free after 5 pm and on weekends. Reservations are recommended for Georgia Queen riverboat rides, so book your ride in advance to have this fantastic Savannah experience!
