Goats on the Roof is a Can’t-Miss Quirky Attraction in Georgia

A roadside attraction like no other is hidden in the hills of north Georgia. Tucked in the northeastern corner of the Peach State, Goats on the Roof in Tiger, Ga., attracts droves of visitors each year for its main attraction: roof-dwelling goats.

As the name implies, these Tiger Mountain goats have taken up residence on the rooftops of the buildings. There are several legends as to why these goats prefer to be perched on a roof, but the most popular theory says the goats are aliens waiting for the next eclipse. Whatever the reason, these goats prance from roof to roof with a bird’s eye-view of their surroundings and guests can feed the goats treats via pulley systems in various locations around the attraction.

But there’s more to this quirky attraction than its furry friends. Goats on the Roof has a country store featuring unique gifts, toys, old-fashioned candy and Amish furniture. There’s also Big Billy’s Cafe, which serves up fried chicken, pretzel dogs, barbecue and more.

If you’re looking to satisfy your sweet tooth, you’ll be glad you stopped by Goats on the Roof. In addition to old-fashioned candy, this attraction offers nitrogen ice cream. Not only is it a delightful treat, but watching the ice cream being made is part of the fun. If ice cream isn’t the sugar rush you’re craving, try some of the homemade fudge or make s’mores by the fire pit.
