Burgers are an American favorite that some restaurants are taking to greater heights. Regardless, these titanic dishes have garnered some serious interest with extreme foodies. Are you up for the task of taking on the most overwhelming burgers in the United States?

Heart Attack Grill - Las Vegas, Nevada
Heart Attack Grill in Las Vegas is likely heard of by many already, thanks to its elaborate hospital theme and gory dishes. The Quadruple Bypass Burger is the most notorious, hyper unhealthy masterpiece one can get from the macabre eatery, and it will set you back 10,000 calories. But you can go even further by ordering the Octuple, which has eight patties and 40 bacon slices, gluttonously slathered in cheese and chili. Wash it down with some red wine serve via an IV bag.
Clinton Station Diner - Clinton, New Jersey
Clinton Station Diner in New Jersey boasts a behemoth like no other—the appropriately named 8th Wonder, which weighs in at 105 pounds. While it may not be the biggest on the list, there’s a $2,000 prize for any group of nine friends that can finish the mountain of burger in one hour! You can take on the 50-pound Mt. Olympus with four friends for $1,000, or the 15 pound Zeus, solo, for $500. Itty bitty in comparison is the wee little 3 pound Atlas, which is free if you gobble it in 45 minutes.
Chunky’s Burgers - San Antonio, Texas
Texas is full of impressive burger restaurants, but The Four Horsemen Challenge at Chunky’s Burgers in San Antonio takes it up a notch. The challenge is not so much one of size, but heat. A devilish mash-up of ghost, habanero, jalapeño and torching fresh Serrano’s top this beast, which folks have to sign a waiver to attempt. Staff is literally prepared for you to lose your lunch, and provide a buck for any rejected content. You’d better hit the bucket because they’ll charge $20 to swab the deck. We’re sweating just thinking about it.
Kooky Canuck - Memphis, Tennessee
Kooky Canuck in Memphis, Tennessee will pay for your meal if you finish the over 12,000 calorie Kookamonga Burger, in one hour. The bun alone weighs in at 2 pounds, and the patty comes in at four pounds. Condiments alone add another 1 1/2 pounds! Want fries with that? No problem.
Vortex Bar and Grill - Atlanta, Georgia
A spiraled eye skull welcomes you to Vortex Bar and Grill in Atlanta’s pleasantly strange Little 5 Points. Already serving up the most iconic burgers in the city, you better bet they’ve got a killer burger challenge, officially dubbed the Triple Coronary Bypass Challenge. Denny’s Beer Barrel Pub - Clearfield, Pennsylvania
Denny’s Beer Barrel Pub actually has several burger challenges, ranging from two pounders to the 125 pound Main Event Burger, which looks like the size of your average hubcap. Two people are permitted to take on the astonishing meat creations, but the bigger burgers can be ordered as a centerpiece to your next party. While a giant burger may not be your idea of fine catering, Denny’s presentation is surprisingly mouthwatering with an artisan appearance.
Mallie’s Sports Bar and Grill - Southgate, Michigan
Mallie’s Sports Bar and Grill is “Home to the World’s Largest Commercially Available Burger”, says their site. Given that it weighs in at 1,800 pounds, and costs $10,000, we’d say that’s accurate. While we don’t know how many people actually come in and order the elephantine franken-burger, customers request other supersized dishes like the two-pound taco.
Specks Tavern - Topeka, Kansas
Specks in Topeka, Kansas has been around since the 1950s and serves up juicy burgers on fluffy soft house-made buns.
