The incredible Danville Treehouse offers a three-story oasis nestled among the oak trees in Geneva, Florida just 45 minutes from Orlando. It was featured in Season 1, Episode 7 of Netflix’s “The World’s Most Amazing Vacation Rentals,” and surprisingly it was the budget selection for hosts content creators Jo Franco and Megan Batoon, and Bravo star Luis D. Ortiz.

While treehouses have become a favorite among those searching for unique vacation rentals, with the necessary social distancing of the pandemic they skyrocketed in popularity, propelling this space to become one of the state’s top Airbnbs.
Danville is a whimsical treehouse ideal for two, with one bedroom that includes a queen-sized Murphy bed plus a full bathroom with a bidet. It sits within an 18-foot yurt and includes a 14-foot ceiling, four-foot skylight, and a panoramic window, along with accent lights. There’s also a kitchenette with a mini-fridge, microwave, and sink. When the bed is raised, it becomes the living space with a large, flat-screen TV that includes satellite channels, Amazon, and Netflix. Wi-Fi is included too.
What makes it stand out even more is the custom-built tree trunk elevator, something the hosts couldn’t stop raving about and neither could many of us viewers. If you want to get up and down another way, it has a circa 1926 classic fire tower stairway from a local fire tower. The treehouse has three levels which includes the yurt deck with a gas fireplace, gas grill, and seating for four. The upper deck has a swing chair and table overlooking the entire property.
Oh, and there’s a hot tub which just so happens to be repurposed from a jet engine. Illuminated at night, a soak is especially unforgettable as another highlight noted by the hosts. It sits on the middle deck which also has an outdoor shower with hot and cold water.
The ground level has an outdoor wood fire pit, a tiki hut, and lots of seating.
Throughout the 30-acre property you’ll find all sorts of interesting structures built by the owner who says, “it’s not a gallery but a creative space full of inspiration” as an eclectic collection of previously owned objects that he hopes to utilize in upcoming art projects. He might even give you a tour.
As it is a large property with lots to see, you can rent one of the owner’s classic vehicles, perhaps a golf cart or a Jeep, for a small fee that’s used to help maintain and replace them.
While you can’t bring your pets, there may be a cuddly alpaca or two to cuddle up with. And, a number of activities can be enjoyed like learning how to milk a pygmy goat in the barn. For an additional fee you can enjoy a horseback ride through the 500-acre park that lies adjacent to the property.
The treehouse is an adults-only venue for safety reasons, perhaps the ideal place to bring out your inner kid again.
