Deep in the beautiful mountains of North Georgia lies the town of Helen, a Bavarian-themed village that keeps German traditions alive every day of the year. However, September and October are particularly special months to visit Helen, because this is when the annual Oktoberfest celebration takes place.

Taking place at the Helen Festhalle on Edelweiss Street, this celebration kicked off on in September  and continues on through the end of October. Visitors from near and far will love the German food, beer, music, and dancing.

Oktoberfest in Helen is also an excellent excuse to dress up in costume. It’s easy to find traditional Bavarian outfits in Halloween costume shops and online around this time of year to really get in the mood to party. This is the longest-running Oktoberfest in the United States, so you’re in the right place!

Come to the Festhalle for amazing food and beer served at long rows of tables, allowing you to eat and drink while watching the performances. Live music kicks off just a half hour after the doors open on festival days. So, shake off your inhibitions and show off your best waltz, polka, or chicken dance skills!
