The focus of Grand Teton National Park, it’s a paradise for avid hikers, mountain bikers, paddlers, and wildlife watchers. Snake River Cabins and RV Park - Jackson, Wyoming

A short drive south of the national park, this campground/RV park has cabins as well as sites for RVs, motorhomes, trailers, and tents. There are pull-through and back-in sites for RVs with full hookups, including water, electric, and sewer. They include up to 1,000-square-feet of grass and landscaping, private patios with fire rings, outdoor dining sets, and paved RV pads. Guests have access to three bathhouses with showers, a general store, coffee in the main lodge, firewood and ice, and fly fishing in the Snake River. Horseback riding and hiking can be enjoyed nearby too.

The tent sites are fantastic, located along the Snake River or Horse Creek, you’ll enjoy a peaceful night’s rest to a soundtrack of the rushing water.

Mike Harris Campground - Victor, Idaho

Located five miles from Victor, Idaho, about 30 minutes from Jackson, Wyoming and 40 from Grand Teton National Park, Mike Harris Campground offers gorgeous sites tucked among lodgepole pine and Douglas fir trees at an elevation of 6,200 feet. Wildlife is abundant, including moose and deer. These are single-family sites without hookups, but they do have picnic tables, fire rings, and food storage lockers. Access to drinking water, vault toilets, and trash collection is offered too. When not exploring the park, hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding can be enjoyed along the Mikesell Canyon Trail, which begins right at the campground. Fishing for brook trout and Yellowstone cutthroat is available on Trail Creek too.

Hatchett Campground - Moran, Wyoming

This National Forest Service campground sits long Highway 26 between Dubois and Jackson, less than 10 minutes from the park entrance. It has just nine campsites, two of which are pull-through for RVs. All include campfire rings, single-unit vault toilets, and accessibility to bear boxes, access to water, a single-unit vault toilet, campfire rings. In addition to exploring the park, you’ll have opportunities for fishing designated wild and scenic rivers nearby. Once you’ve set up and are ready to relax, you can hang out beneath the shady evergreens with a view of Baldy Mountain in the distance.

Curtis Canyon Campground - Jackson, Wyoming

Those who want to be off the beaten path but close to town will love Curtis Canyon Campground. Part of the Bridger-Teton National Forest, it sits above the National Elk Refuge and offers spectacular views of the Tetons and the refuge only steps from your site. Downtown Jackson is only a couple of miles away. Horseback riding and hiking can all be enjoyed minutes from the campground too. It has vault toilets and potable water and is open mid-May through late September on a first-come, first-served basis.

Kozy Campground - Jackson, Wyoming

About 30 miles south of the national park, Kozy Campground sits along the Wild & Scenic Hoback River surrounded by lush meadows, evergreens, and mountains. Hoback Jackson and the Snake River are nearby too, yet civilization feels like it’s worlds away. Bring your fishing poles or dip your toes in the water while gazing at the jaw-dropping surrounding scenery. This is a peaceful, quiet spot with just eight non-reservable sites, one pull-through, so you’ll want to arrive as others are leaving at mid-week for the best odds of snagging one.

Teton Valley Resort Campground - Victor, Idaho

Located in Victor, Idaho, about 30 miles from Grand Teton National Park, this large resort campground offers cabins as well as sites for motor homes, travel trailers, fifth wheels, tent trailers, and tents. You’ll be able to hook up to Wi-Fi and electric from 20 to 50 amp is available at multiple sites, which are mostly gravel. There’s a pool, restrooms, showers, and scheduled activities too.

Granite Creek Campground is a favorite, with its beautiful scenery and the opportunity to cast your line for trout in Wild & Scenic Granite Creek or hit the trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. There’s even a natural hot spring to soak in after a day of adventure before gathering around a campfire under the stars. It’s nestled in a valley between high mountain peaks very close to Gros Ventre Wilderness. While the national park is about an hour away, this is truly one for the books that you won’t want to miss. Perhaps you can divide your time between it and another one that offers closer access. There are 20 sites, five of which are pull-through. Drinking water, picnic tables, and toilets are provided.

Atherton Creek Campground - Kelly, Wyoming

Located in the Teton National Forest, Atherton Creek Campground offers sites near the Gros Ventre River for reeling in trout or even floating past moose and elk. There’s a mountain lake for boating, aspen groves and evergreens, and plenty of peace and solitude, yet it’s just 30 minutes from Jackson and Grand Teton National Park. There are 22 sites, one pull-through, all available on a first-come, first-served basis. It also includes a boat ramp, picnic tables, drinking water, and toilets.

Lizard Creek Campground - Moran, Wyoming

This campground is actually located in a remote area of the national park, just 11 miles south of Yellowstone and eight miles north of Colter Bay, ideal for those who want convenient access to both parks. The campsites are nestled among spruce and fir trees along the shores of Jackson Lake. The northern section of the Tetons is just across the water, including Ranger, Owl, and Webb Canyon peaks. The Teton Range soars over Jackson Lake, making this one of the most scenic places to pitch a tent or park your RV/trailer that’s up to 30 feet in length. Picnic tables, fire rings, and toilets are provided.

Greys River Resort - Alpine, Wyoming

The often well-reviewed campground in Alpine is the closest Good Sam park to Jackson, offering level sites with full hookups available, great Wi-Fi, and cell service. There’s a dedicated tenting area with 25 sites for tents, restrooms and showers, laundry facilities, firewood, ice, and even a restaurant and cocktail lounge with a pool table. Plus, you’ll have access to the Snake River for fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and more, while the national park is just over 40 miles away.

Located in the heart of the charming town of Dubois, this is the closest KOA to Grand Teton and the southern entrance of Yellowstone. Here you can camp along the Wind River in a lush valley nestled between the Absaroka and Wind River Mountains. Just 30 minutes south of Jackson, East Table Campground offers a tranquil wilderness experience with 19 single-family sites that overlook the Snake River Canyon. If you’re hoping to explore the national park and raft the river, this might just be your best basecamp, but you’ll need to arrive early to get a spot as it’s a Bridger-Teton campground, all available only on a first-come, first-served basis. It includes 20 sites, five of which are pull-through, offering awe-inspiring views of the river and the surrounding mountains.
